TRACE
AFFEX OFFERS 20 PERCENT PRICE REDUCTION
ON ITS HP-BASED INK-JET PRINTER
FOR PCs AND MACs
CD-Artist IV CD-R Printer Aggressively Positioned
San Jose, CA
– October 31, 2001 – Trace Affex (www.traceaffexinc.com)
has announced a 20 percent price reduction for its HP-based, ink-jet color CD
printer -- the CD-Artist IV for PCs and MACs -- bringing its MSRP to
$2095. The reduction will enable the
company’s channel-partner network to offer very aggressive pricing to their
customers. The recently introduced
CD-Artist IV delivers the highest print resolution in the industry, and
represents state-of-the-art features and benefits in imaging technology and
ease of use.
“We have had an
excellent reception to our CD-Artist IV in the marketplace by users who print
precise images and spectacular colors on ink-jet printable CD-Rs or CD-R
business cards,” said Frank Nunes, Trace Affex vice president, sales. “Our expanded production capacity and
proprietary design technology now enable us to reduce the price and make it
that much more compelling.”
Nunes added, “Users
find that CD-Artist IV is a perfect solution for high quality applications with
an industry high 2400x1200 dpi.”
The CD-Artist IV
features HP’s enhanced PhotoREt color-layering, color optimization and color
resolution technologies -- and the proprietary Trace Affex CD locking
system. Its powerful printer driver was
designed by HP and Trace Affex engineers to optimize the HP print engine; and
its exclusive Reload feature makes printing multiple copies of CDs simple and
fast.
“Mac users,
especially, have welcomed the CD-Artist IV.
Many of them have felt abandoned by other CD-printer manufacturers that
have discontinued their Mac-based products,” Nunes concluded.
The CD-Artist IV can
be connected to a PC or MAC via the parallel or USB cables included with the
printer. It is compatible with all the
major Windows and MAC graphic software.
The minimum requirements are a Pentium 100MHz and 32MB RAM. MAC users must have a MAC OS 9.x.x operating
system.
