has introduced the first MAC- and PC-compatible, HP-based, fully-automated,
high-volume, unattended, tabletop color-printing system for printable CD-R,
DVD-R and CD-R business cards. It delivers the industry’s highest quality print
images. The fully integrated, enclosed
PowerPrinter IV robotically loads and prints up to 100 discs and delivers
2400x1200 print resolution -- the highest in the industry.
The PowerPrinter IV
provides an elegant printing solution for full-color on-demand printing on120mm
standard CD-Rs and 63mm x 80mm business card CD-Rs and
DVD-Rs. The costs
associated with the silk-screen process --including color separations, film and
time --are eliminated. Image files are
printed directly on the CD or DVD as they appear on the computer screen.

electro-mechanical (no vacuum tubing) system provides the fastest cycle time in

CDs/DVDs for continuous operation without interrupting the printing

each time discs are added or taken away.”

utilizes HP’s powerful 970 printer engine for true four-color CMYK with an
extremely precise proprietary disc registration feature,” added Nunes. “The HP ink cartridges (one set included
with purchase) are widely available at local office supply stores at one-half
the price of competitive CD inkjet printer cartridges. Ink cartridge life is approximately 600 CDs
or DVDs with 100% coverage and balanced color at the normal setting—another
industry best,” Nunes concluded.
Compatible operating
systems for the PowerPrinter IV are Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, NT 4.0 and MAC
9.xx. Minimum system requirements are Pentium II, 32MB RAM and 100MB drive
space. Template files provided include
Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, Corel Draw, Canvas for use with most graphics
applications. The PowerPrinter IV can
be connected to a PC or Mac via the parallel or USB cables included with the
printer.
MSRP for the
PowerPrinter IV is $5595.00. The
limited warranty covers one-year parts and labor.
