Corporate Overview
Trace Affex Inc is a leading provider of duplication, automation and printing solutions to the rapidly evolving CD-R and DVD-R recording markets. Trace Affex's POWERWRITER and POWERPRINTER SERIES of systems are used by companies to copy electronic files and print high quality color images to CD-R recordable media. Trace Affex is a privately held company.
Trace Affex's origin stems from Trace Products, founded in 1983 with over 17 years experience in developing and manufacturing industrial grade automated duplication equipment. Trace companies have proven their expertise in providing high volume, reliable solutions to the software manufacturing industry with an estimated 80% of all the flexible diskettes in the world duplicated on Trace equipment. Trace's reputation has been based on developing and manufacturing innovative designs and solutions, as supported by the many patents held by Trace companies.
Trace's expertise includes more than seven years experience in the CD-R market. Trace has been an innovator in identifying and developing solutions for the developing CD-R market. In 1993, Trace Products established a separate business unit to specifically focus on the CD-R market working with a consortium of developers and vendors to introduce a full line of CD-R products, including:
As the CD Optical and CD-R markets continued to grow, Trace Products responded by creating business units to address the specific needs of those customers and markets.
1995 - Trace Products expanded its' flexible diskette replication and initial CD-R product offerings to include a multi-copy, CD-R tower duplication system.
1996 - Trace Optical was launched, providing CD and DVD manufacturers with a full range of products and services including: Laser Beam Recorders, glass mastering equipment, CD injection molding and finishing systems, cleanroom facilities planning, test equipment and quality control systems.
1997 - Trace Digital LLC
was launched as an independent company to focus specifically on developing
and manufacturing industrial grade, automated CD-R and DVD-R duplication solutions.
In March 1999, Trace Digital acquired AFFEX, a leading developer of CD-R surface
printing solutions. In December 1999, M.D. Systems
of Belgium was acquired and renamed Trace Digital Europe NV, providing
regional sales and service to all continental Europe.
2001 - Trace Affex Inc was created as the
entity of Trace Digital and Affex.
Trace Affex is managed by several experienced and knowledgeable managers from
the software and hardware manufacturing industry. CEO Dave Kalstrom; VP of
Engineering, Chuck Huie; VP of Sales/Marketing, Brian McCarthy, European Managing
Director, Mark Bennik and Owner/Designer of Automated Products, John Meadows.
John Meadows, also President of Able Design Inc., has over 20 years experience
in the design of numerous CD and MO juke boxes and holds several patents related
to such designs.
Trace Affex has focused its development efforts on providing customers with
a full range of CD-R and DVD-R automated duplication and printer solutions.
CD-R & DVD-R Automation
- Trace Affex's autoloader technology was designed and manufactured by our
partner company, Able Design. This design is used in all Trace Affex's autoloaders,
and is the foundation for future products. Key features include:

CD-R Integrated Duplication & Printing The APS-2002 (Automated Publishing System) combines duplicating and in-line color printing in a robotic autoloader using an Hewlett-Packard color ink-jet printer. The APS-2002 has a 100-disc capacity and is available with two high-speed CD-R or DVD-R writers. PoINT Publisher Software supports simultaneous CD duplication and printing with special software tools available to make image import, alignment and printing simple.
CD-R & DVD-R Printing Trace Affex also manufactures manual and automated printer solutions, all based on the Hewlett-Packard ink jet technology.
